The palestinian media and haters have gone into overdrive to disseminate a story about pro-terrorist palestinian Archibishop Attalla Hanna, reporting claims that Israel tried to assassinate him.
Palestinian Archbishop Atallah Hanna, Head of the Sebastia Diocese of the Greek Orthodox Church in Jerusalem, told Al Quds News on Monday that he holds Israel responsible for poisoning him last Wednesday, December 18.
The outspoken Archbishop was reportedly rushed to the hospital after what seemed like an Israeli gas canister was fired into his church in the occupied Palestinian city of Jerusalem. The Palestine Chronicle reported on the incident, along with other news websites, although exact details of what had taken place remained unclear.
Speaking to Jordanian media while receiving treatment at the Jordan Hospital today, Archbishop Hanna told journalists that the Israeli occupation is responsible for poisoning him using a “chemical substance”.
Archbishop Hanna went as far as asserting that the Israeli occupation “may have attempted to assassinate him or keep him sick all his life, indicating that the substance has very serious effects, especially on the nervous system,” reported Quds News.

The report itself casts doubt on the claims, in that it mentions the lack of clarity as to what exactly happened, as well as his claim Israel may have attempted to assassinate him. In other words, it is pure speculation not grounded in fact.
Another report is even clearer. Well, kind of.
The Head of the Sebastia Diocese of the Greek Orthodox Church in Jerusalem Archbishop Atallah Hanna yesterday accused Israel of attempting to poison him.
Archbishop Hanna made the remarks during an interview with the official Jordanian TV channel from a hospital in the Jordanian capital, Amman, where he was transferred for treatment.
“What happened could be an assassination attempt, or an attempt to keep me sick throughout life … The repercussions of the toxic substance are dangerous, especially on the nervous system,” the station reported Hanna saying.
He added that a team in Palestine “is collecting evidence to ascertain the nature and source of the inhaled substance”.
“I cannot be certain that Israel is behind this incident, but indications show that it is behind it,” he added.
“I believe that if Israel is proven to be involved in this incident, its objective was not tantamount to an assassination, but rather an attempt to harm me,” he said.
“I cannot be certain that Israel is behind this incident” is very different from claiming Israel tried to assassinate him. At same time, note his contradictory words: “What happened could be an assassination attempt, or an attempt to keep me sick throughout life” vs “its objective was not tantamount to an assassination, but rather an attempt to harm me”
Israel does not go around trying to poison people, unless it is a Mossad operation against an arch terrorist. This is a libel, plain and simple.
