In an interview with Ynet, Hollywood actor Rob Lowe gushes about his time in Israel 30 years ago:
It has been 30 years since Rob Lowe arrived in Israel, and he still remembers well the fans who ambushed him at the entrance to the Tel Aviv hotel where he stayed, and the girls who tried to infiltrate the port of Ashdod, where he shot the action-sea commando film, “Sea Lions.” “I will be honest with you: the thing I remember most about Israel is how beautiful the women were. Yes, I definitely remember Tel Aviv, I had a good time there. I was a young guy then!”, Lowe recalls in a trans-Atlantic zoom interview I conducted with him this month. Lowe’s memories are accompanied by mischievous laughter, aware that this is not the most politically correct answer there is in the days of MeToo and Time’s Up. “I will not forget the history I was exposed to during this visit, and the time I spent in the holy places in Jerusalem. The dive in Eilat was also amazing. I really enjoyed it. Israel is a beautiful country, there is something to be excited about.”
Of course, longtime Israellycool readers may have already known Rob is a fan of Israel.
I’ve always been a fan of Rob, so it’s mutual.
