Israel at Forefront of Stopping New Human Rights Violation

With Israel constantly being unfairly maligned for defending herself, it is good to remind people how we stand on the front lines in the fight for freedom and democracy.*

weetabixKFC, Nando’s, UK police, Israel come together against suggestion to put baked beans on Weetbix

How people enjoy their Weetbix is a very personal decision – some like them with hot milk and banana, some piled high with sugar. Some psychopaths even eat them with butter and Vegemite – a terribly dry way to go about things.

But a suggestion from UK cereal company Weetabix encouraging eaters to top their cereal with baked beans has drawn the ire of the internet.

The official Twitter account of Weetabix (the English version of the NZ fave) posted a photo of the two cereal biscuits smothered in beans with the caption: “Why should bread have all the fun when there’s Weetabix?”

Unsurprisingly, the internet did not react in kind – some of the world’s biggest international Twitter accounts getting in on the pile on.

The NHS official account joked it should “come with a health warning”, while the Domino’s account wrote: “We’re almost scared to ask what the verdict on pineapple on Weetabix may be…”

The official account of chicken chain Nando’s wrote “You okay hun? DM’s are open if you need to talk”, to which competitor KFC replied, “Let’s set aside our differences to prosecute this under the Geneva Convention”.

Law enforcement also got in on the action. Sussex Police wrote “nothing warrants this” while West Yorkshire Police warned: “Even though this is criminal, please don’t ring us to report it.”

Even the official Twitter account of Israel managed by the Digital Diplomacy team wrote it was “something that all Middle-Eastern countries can agree on – just no.

“Also, want to know how you can upgrade your Weetabix? Hummus.”

.

Now watch as the haters either accuse us of “Weetabix desecration-washing” or complain again we have culturally appropriated hummus. Or both.

*Of course, I am being tongue-in-cheek, we do a hell of a lot more than speak out against terrible food combinations.
