The following video – an interview with a wokester named Barak Goodman, the newly hired Program Director of a group called the Peacekeeper Society – was uploaded by one of the organizations rioting in the city of Portland Oregon.

Among Barak Goodman’s claims are that:
- He is an Egyptian Arab
- His mother is from Alexandria
- He grew up in the Arab community, which is where he learned compassion
- He recently returned from “Palestine”
This struck me as very weird because I pride myself on my strong Jewdar, especially when it comes to people with the first name Barak (a very Israeli name), and second name Goodman (a very Jewish name).
So I made some inquiries and lo and behold, I discovered that Barak is not who he claims to be.
It turns out Barak is, in fact, a Jew. Both his parents are Jewish. His mother’s family is from Egypt, but they were expelled along with many of the other Jews, forced to leave in the night. His mother was born, not in Alexandria, but in the Israeli town of Nahariya. His father is a mix from all the classic Ashkenazi countries (perhaps this is why he just says “My dad is from here” – because he does not want to get into it, or is embarrassed about his father’s background). Barak did not grow up in the Arab community, but rather a middle-class neighborhood in Portland, Oregon. They were part of the Jewish community, not the Arab community. Barak apparently went to Jewish preschool and JCC camps and his mom was active with other Israelis. Barak never lived in “Palestine”, but his whole family lives here, including his mother and a brother who is an orthodox Rabbi.
Not surprisingly, Barak is an Israel-hater, as this photo I was supplied shows.
In the last war, he apparently supported Hamas while his own family was hiding from rockets.
The question is why is Barak Goodman lying about his background? Is it because he wants to fit in better with the Israel-hating crowd, which he understands is antisemitic? Or is this just a case of mental illness.
Either way, this proud Arab from a proud Arab background is really just a lost, confused Jew.
