Billie Eilish Saying ‘Hi Israel’ Causes Haters to Say ‘Bye Felicia’

American singer and songwriter Billie Eilish just dropped her second album Happier Than Ever. As part of the promotion to the Israeli market, she (or perhaps Universal Music) recorded this video:

Happier than ever does not describe the reaction of many haters:

These reactions are very telling, especially when you consider that the video was a simple, generic promotional video aimed at the Israeli market. A similar video has been recorded for other markets.

The haters – the same people who constantly chant the refrain “criticism of Israel is not antisemitic!” (as if anyone ever claimed it was) – are objecting to Billie Eilish acknowledging Israel’s very existence in a generic promotional video.

That is rather chilling when you think about it.

Update: Some on our side have a lot to learn as well; making false claims to bolster one’s side is not the way to go.
