With West Hollywood City Council candidate Chelsea Byers’ Israel-hatred getting more publicity, many constituents are rightly concerned. One asked her to explain where she now stands:
My anti-war beliefs have manifested in activism in many ways, and I recognize that my intent to support peace might not have had the impact I hoped for. Hopefully this article from 2012 clarifies my intentions: https://t.co/PhD3EKKmmB

Translation: Here is a ten-year-old article painting me as pro-peace, so take my word for it, even though I was a founder of Students for Justice in Palestine at NAU. My intent to support peace may not have had the impact I hoped for, given SJP’s history of terror support and antisemitism, as well as pretty much everything I have done and said since then. But c’mon, I look like the girl next door, so you have to believe me.
Actually, given what we know about SJP and her support for things like ending military aid for Israel, “the impact I hoped for” takes on a more chilling meaning.
Meanwhile, in that same comment thread comes this damning revelation:

Since I was not there, I cannot confirm exactly what happened. But this was tweeted almost two weeks ago, and Byers did not respond, despite tweeting since. In the meantime, I have reached out to UTLA Caucus for more information.
