Last night, AS Roma defeated Tottenham Hotspur in Haifa, and an alleged quote by Roma coach José Mourinho went viral:
It was even picked up by Benchwarmers, a Facebook page with over 2 million followers:
It seems weird Mourinho would come to Israel, and even visit the Western Wall, and then spit in Israel’s face for hosting him and his team with such a quote.
Of course, he never said it. I know this because the guy who first posted the quote has admitted it was fake:
It looks like the fabricator was trying to prove a point, and he certainly did that – people will gobble up lies when it comes to Israel.
