Ahed Tamimi’s Mother Now Claims Her Daughter’s Instagram Account Was Hacked

Remember how following her daughter’s arrest for incitement over the now infamous Instagram story, “‘”Shirley Temper” Ahed Tamimi’s mother denied her daughter did it, claiming it was a fake ‘Ahed Tamimi’ Instagram account since she did not even have one?

I posted the receipts showing it was almost certainly a story from her real Instagram account. I am not sure if my post is the reason, but now Mommy Dearest has changed her story, claiming the account (which previously did not exist, apparently) had been hacked.

The family of Palestinian activist Ahed Tamimi insists she didn’t write the words for which she now sits in an Israeli jail.

Israeli authorities burst into the Tamimi home in the occupied West Bank on Monday and arrested the 22-year old for “inciting terrorism” on her Instagram account. But her mother says the account was hacked.

The Israeli military alleges Tamimi posted a statement reading “we are waiting for you in all the West Bank cities from Hebron to Jenin — we will slaughter you and you will say that what Hitler did to you was a joke, we will drink your blood and eat your skulls, come on, we are waiting for you.”

Nariman Tamimi, Ahed’s mother, said the account had been hacked — a common occurrence for the fiery activist.

Claiming her daughter’s account was not only hacked but such hackings were a common occurrence for an account she previously insisted did not even exist is all you need to know about the trustworthiness of Mommy Dearest. Well that, and this obvious lie:

Soldiers held Nariman in a separate room while others handcuffed her daughter. Through the walls, Nariman says she heard the soldiers beating Ahed before carting her away. The Israeli military declined to say where Tamimi is being held.

By the way, in case you think perhaps some English-speaking news outlets initially misquoted Mommy Dearest about the fake account, here is Turkey’s TRT World translating her initial claim the same way:

Notice also how here, she doesn’t claim soldiers beat her like she did later. You’d think had it happened, she would have definitely made a stink about it in this interview.

Incidentally, the hacking defense is a common one when antisemites and terror-supporters are caught posting something incriminating. For instance, Michael Chikindas, the Rutgers professor whose antisemitism I outed in 2017 leading to some career consequences. After his antisemitic posts made the news, he claimed I had hacked him (even modifying some of his photos to make him look ugly!)
