Saturday Night Live (SNL) has completed its descent into irrelevance following their cold open sketch this past Saturday night, which mocked last week’s congressional hearings on campus antisemitism.
Rather than taking aim at the college presidents and their appallingly lacking testimony, the sketch mocked GOP Congresswoman Elise Stefanik, who called them out over their their inaction over the rampant antisemitism on their campuses.
Meghan McCain hit the nail on the head with this tweet:
There is a 400% increase in antisemitic hate crimes since October 7th and SNL

thinks it’s hilarious….
This is vile. Vile. https://t.co/mekxjIrKxS
Not that this is the first time we are seeing SNL not taking antisemitism seriously – except when dabbling in it themselves.
#MichaelChe of @nbcsnl engaging in more antisemitic humor. Stoking hatred against Jews by perpetuating libels is no laughing matter. cc: @StopAntisemites pic.twitter.com/ATvq0zcUzV

And here’s the kicker:
SNL’s creator and longtime executive producer Lorne Michaels is Jewish and was born on a kibbutz in what was then British mandated Palestine, before moving with his parents to Toronto.
We truly can be our own worst enemies.
