Oh, and “to support the backlash from my arrest, replace my seized equipment and mostly, to make sure by march we have the most we can raise to go to Egypt and make as much of a difference as possible when, god willing the Rafah border will be opened.”
Dear fundraisers! You all know me from TikTok/instagram/telegram and as you know I made this fundraiser a while back to support a humanitarian trip (and holiday). Since then I was arrested and so many of you asked how you could support me so I directed you here. It has warmed my heart that so many have reached out and supported me to both sort out my home and get social services off our back (as a disabled woman things have been hard as I discussed in my videos) as well as legal costs, not just of court but also journeying to and from Swindon for bail and court dates in a wheelchair and, of course loss of income and hardship from online campaigns against me. I adjusted this crowdfunder as soon as I had my phone back and could. But here I am again! I know you all. I am transparent and this money will all be spent on legal costs, on making the house safe and on my ongoing humanitarian work. Hi, my name is Fiona Ryan from Salisbury and for the last 20 years I have been an activist in various ways surrounding human rights and building relationships between different communities around the world.
on Monday 11th December 2023 I was arrested in my home for pro Palestinian content on my online accounts. I now need support to protect my family and I as well as carry on the important humanitarian work being done in the Middle East in march. Please donate if you can! Hi all! As you know this crowdfunder has changed somewhat since it started as a humanitarian mission to support the people of Palestine who, god willing, by the time we go to Egypt in March will be rebuilding, repairing and redeveloping their beautiful country.
As many of you know, I was arrested last week for ‘malicious communication’ related to twitter posts I had REPOSTED online. I have an amazing barrister working with me on this but will still incur some legal fees, especially when it comes transportation (I am disabled) to and from court, as well as loss of earnings and replacement of the things taken by the police.
I had nearly reached by goal for humanitarian work goal and so extended this goal for two reasons; one – I had been asked where to donate money regarding my arrest, which I couldn’t set up without my phone and number, which I have now replaced and also because I am now able to use any additional funds raised to support humanitarian work.
Many of you also asked to donate money towards supporting my young family. This is related to my arrest as it is important we show the courts we are confident and capable parents. We love our kids but with one of us disabled and one in full time work, things are hard and we are working to get social services off our back.
I have tried to be as transparent on my TikTok (where I know most of you) as possible but I want to make that clear here.
Please be rest assured that my only intentions are to use the kind donations as they were intended. To support the backlash from my arrest, replace my seized equipment and mostly, to make sure by march we have the most we can raise to go to Egypt and make as much of a difference as possible when, god willing the Rafah border will be opened.
