Can you guess why Turkish news anchor Meltem Günay was canned?
Clue: You needn’t understand what she is saying.

The answer is for being a Zionist shill…for that Starbucks on the desk next to her!
An award-winning TV news anchor in Turkey was fired for appearing on camera with a Starbucks cup on her desk — a provocative act in the predominantly Muslim country where the Seattle-based company is considered to be pro-Israel.
Meltem Günay, a 45-year-old veteran newscaster with TGRT Haber, and the director of the program were canned immediately after the Sunday broadcast, according to the Turkish television conglomerate.
The Istanbul-based media company said it “has an understanding that knows the sensitivities of the Turkish people regarding Gaza and defends them to the end.”
“We do not approve of this action of the presenter and director, whose employment contracts were terminated, and we strongly condemn it.”
According to the statement, the anchor and the director of the newscast were “terminated for just cause” after they were found to have “acted contrary to this principle.”
The Post has sought comment from Starbucks.
Coffee drinkers in Turkey have waged a nationwide boycott of Starbucks in recent weeks due to what pro-Palestinian sympathizers allege is the company’s bias toward Israel.
And what is this alleged bias towards Israel? The company sued Starbucks Workers United in US federal court in October alleging trademark infringement after the union sent out a social media post saying “Solidarity with Palestine!” a few days after the Hamas atrocities of October 7. The company said it had no official stance on the war and the union’s post might confuse customers (which is hardly a statement in support of Israel).
In other words, not expressing solidarity with those whose people had just murdered, raped and kidnapped civilians means you are pro-Israel in their twisted worldview and thus you need to be boycotted, your employees berated, and your stores’ vandalized; their windows smashed and walls spray-painted.
And drinking coffee of that company means you should lose your job.
When antisemites lose their jobs over vile behavior like ripping down hostage posters and actually expressing support for Hamas terrorism, the haters complain about “cancel culture.” Yet here, when someone loses their job over something as ridiculous as product placement they dislike, it is all fine and dandy.
Just another example of their bullying and hypocrisy.
