The Australian has drawn attention to Islamic Council of Victoria president Adel Salman – in an interview with Patricia Karvelas of Radio National Breakfast – failing to condemn the October 7 massacre of 1200 Israelis by Hamas, and instead saying it is “absolutely legitimate” for Palestinians to “resist” on that day.
This simply isn’t good enough.

This should not surprise anyone paying attention to what is going on in Australia; I have yet to see any prominent Muslim leaders over there condemn Hamas; in fact I have seen only support for them, as well as rank antisemitism.
And even though Salman has made the news only now for these comments, he actually made similarly vile comments on October 15 at an anti-Israel rally:
Salman’s recent comments are not a bug, they are a feature.
