On December 14th of last year, the United Nations Human Rights Office in the Occupied Territories issued a press release about the alleged “Killings of journalists and their family members in Gaza”, which included one Mustafa Ayyash, the founder and director of anti-Israel propaganda outlet Gaza Now.

I am assuming the UN took Hamas for their word without verifying this themselves, because the fact Ayyash was still tweeting should have been a pretty good indication rumors of his death had been exaggerated.
But now all doubt should be laid to rest (unlike Ayyash himself) since Ayyash has been arrested in Austria of all places – which seems somehow fitting given its association with someone else who really had it in for Jews.
According to the Gaza Now Telegram channel, he was arrested on charges of financing Hamas (hat tip: Joe Truzman):

It seems this arrest followed him being added to a US Treasury terror list.
Meanwhile, Ayyash is threatening to sue those who “defamed” him (seems not all of his devices were confiscated after all):

I assume this does not include the United Nations Human Rights Office in the Occupied Territories who defamed him by stating he was dead.
As for him suing me for this post, I really wish he would.
Alas, I don’t think he would be seen dead in an Israeli court.
