In case you missed it, Algerian boxer Imane Khelif, who reportedly failed testosterone and and gender eligibility tests in 2023 yet was nonetheless allowed to compete as a woman at this year’s Olympics, hit her first-round opponent so hard, her opponent withdrew in just 46 seconds.
Carini said post-fight: “I have never been hit so hard in my life. It’s up to the IOC to judge.”
Meanwhile Carini’s coach said: “I don’t know if her nose is broken. I have to speak with the girl. But many people in Italy tried to call and tell her: ‘Don’t go please: it’s a man, it’s dangerous for you.
“She felt pain in the nose and said to me I don’t want to fight anymore.”
NewsCorp Boxing journalist Peter Badel said the IOC had “blood on its hands” over the incident.
“The IOC have deemed that she can fight against women and we saw a brutal outcome today where she beat her opponent in 46 seconds and it set the whole place into pandemonium,” Badel told the Matty and the Missile podcast.
“They don’t give us the exact numbers, but they are elevated readings and certainly greater than what the average female would have.
“To talk to it medically, someone explained it to me that it was equivalent to a female being on steroids and so steroids wouldn’t be allowed at the Olympics and in that case, I don’t believe Khalif should be fighting against women at the Olympics.
“It’ll be interesting to see what the IOC does because it has blood on their hands and she had blood coming from her nose. It was a disgrace.
Badel said the IOC had to act “swiftly”.

Khelif and Lin were disqualified from the 2023 world championships in New Delhi, which was run by the International Boxing Association (IBA).
The IOC website for accredited media in Paris said that the 25-year-old Khelif was disqualified after “elevated levels of testosterone failed to meet the eligibility criteria”.
I am firmly on the side that she should not have been allowed to compete against women, as are – dare I say it – most reasonable people.
Which naturally does not include the Palestinian Olympic Committee, who stand in solidarity with Khelif:

It seems somehow appropriate that the Palestinian Olympic Committee – led by terror-supporter and antisemite Jibril Rajoub – would support an unfair fight in which a bully terrorizes their opponent.
