Yesterday we had some good news, with Squad member Cori Bush losing her Democratic Primary, following in the footsteps of fellow Israel-hater Jamaal Bowman.
Now I don’t want to be that guy, but not all the news was good. Rashida Tlaib will retain Michigan’s 12th Congressional District in Congress, because she is running unopposed.
And we have a reminder as to just how vile this woman is, with this now-deleted retweet:
This tweet was something disseminated far and wide by Israel-haters/antisemites online, in light of footage that is said to show soldiers sexually assaulting one or more imprisoned palestinian Arab terrorists at the Sde Teiman detention facility, with the aim of painting most of Israeli Jewish society as a sick one that would also surely commit genocide.
What’s worse – the screenshot was entirely fake, photoshopped from a different poll “Do you agree with the claim that the government leans on terror-supporters?”:
The only reason Tlaib deleted it is that the below Community Note appeared beneath tweets making this fake claim, exposing her as the dangerous liar that she is:
(Although I do not agree its purpose was satire. Its purpose was to mislead and demonize).
Even if we were to assume Tlaib did not know the poll was fake, one would expect a Congresswoman to do due diligence before posting incendiary claims (it would have taken a few seconds to check the screenshot in Google Lens). What’s more, one would expect transparency: not just quietly removing the tweet but also posting an apology.
This is just another in a litany of examples showing how Rashida Tlaib is unfit for office.
