Memo to the “he’s an anti-Zionist-not-antisemite” crowd: Do you think the crack about him coming to Bulgaria to study about money – playing into the antisemitic trope of Jews and money – was just “legitimate criticism of Israel”? How about the crack about the Bible, clearly mocking Jewish belief?
At the end of the day, it is almost always about contempt and hatred of Jews and Judaism – no matter how much they deny it.
