We are unfortunately witnessing no shortage of people engaging in Jew-hatred and/or terror support.
In most cases, I would say, their employers are not aware of the views of their employees, and seem genuinely surprised to learn through exposés on here or elsewhere.
Then there’s the University of California’s UCI Health, in Irvine, described as “as a top 10 nationally ranked public research university, and as one of the nation’s best hospitals for over 18 consecutive years.”
In September of this year, they hired one Dr. Ayesha Khan as their Associate Director of Clinical Microbiology.
Note also the disclaimer “Opinions shared on this and other platforms are my own and not the views of my employer.” Red flag, much?
According to their website, a condition of employment includes a “Background Check & Live Scan”:
A pre-employment check of a candidate’s background serves as an important part of the selection process and is conducted to promote a safe work environment; protect key organizational assets such as people, property, and information; and enables the hiring authority to make prudent hiring decisions based upon more comprehensive job-related information.
So it is really hard for me to believe that when hiring Khan this year, they didn’t look at her LinkedIn profile, which speaks of her advocacy focusing on “combatting carceral systems, building a framework for educational equity,” decolonizing healthcare… movements for Black and Palestinian liberation…neocolonialism and decolonized geopolitics.”
But just say, for arguments sake, they didn’t, or this section was added later. A simple Google search would have revealed both her website and Instagram account.
An examination of the latter would have revealed her disturbing support for Hamas and October 7:
along with her general terror support and hatred of her home, the USA:
And following her website to her Substack would have also led to the discovery of her troubling views.
So I have to ask: UCI Health, what were you thinking? Did you skip some steps during the vetting process, or does the hiring manager share the vile views of Dr Khan?
I find it hard to believe this accords with the values of the University of California, especially given what their chancellor, Howard Gillman (who I assume is Jewish), had to say about October 7:
As chancellor I believe it is vital for me to refrain from speaking about larger political or international events about which there may be differences of opinion among campus stakeholders (see my “statement on statements”). In general, I should not associate the campus with particular political positions on matters not directly related to the mission of the university.
The horrific massacre of innocent individuals in Israel by Hamas is not another international event or policy debate. It is the largest one-day slaughter of Jews anywhere in the world since the end of the Nazi holocaust.
There is no notion of “freedom fighting” or anti-Zionism that justifies or can rationalize the targeted murder and kidnapping of more than a thousand civilians. And with every passing hour the true scope of the horrors is revealed to be even worse than one could have feared. The situation is amplifying anxiety, pain and stress within our community and around the world.
In the days and weeks to come there will be many debates and arguments about many issues that arise in the wake of this tragedy. It is not my place to take positions on all those issues. I speak only now to give voice to our common humanity as we stand in unity against the cold, calculated massacre of the innocent.
Let us commit to supporting every member of our Anteater community who is most directly impacted by this history-changing catastrophe. Let us reach out to each other to deepen our understanding of our many and varied life experiences and unique perspectives as we work through our differences in an environment of mutual respect and peaceful engagement. And let us strive to create a world where the light of knowledge conquers the darkness wrought by hate and violence.
Fiat Lux.
Chancellor Howard Gillman
