‘Hijab Barbi”s real name is still unknown, as is her nationality. I assume from the below video that she is Jordanian, although identifies as a “palestinian”:

Unwittingly, Hijab Barbi has revealed an uncomfortable truth (for her); the reason there was confusion around the Jordanian and palestinian colors is because their colonialist origins are the same:
The choice of the Pan-Arab colors are suggested to be a nod in part to the 13th-century Arab poet Safi al-Din al-Hili, who wrote: “White are our deeds, black are our battles, green are our fields, red are our swords.” More specifically, the colors were intended to each highlight different Arab dynasties through history: white for the Umayyad dynasty (c.e. 661–750); black for the Abbasid (c.e. 750–1517, off and on); green for the Fatimid (c.e. 909–1171); red for the Hashemite (c.e. 1916–present).
These dynasties were created via conquests of the lands of others.
Incidentally, Hijab Barbi also identifies as Iraqi – which has a similar flag as well.
In other words, she is a settler and part of the true colonialists. Not that biting the hand that feeds her – Australia, which allows her to post such videos and enjoy other freedoms she would not enjoy in most of the Arab world – isn’t bad enough.
