A year ago, I exposed how Free Palestine Printing were breaching copyright by co-opting some beloved cartoon characters for their anti-Israel and antisemitic merchandise. Following my expose, the BBC – who owns the global commercial and broadcast rights to the children’s show Bluey – demanded FPP stop selling their merchandise co-opting the show’s characters, with their spokesperson saying “BBC Studios strongly disapprove of any unauthorised use of Bluey and our brand protection team is taking appropriate action.”
As a result, FPP were forced to removed Blue products from their online store, but indicated they would continue to sell the Bluey shirts in person.
Fast forward to almost a year later; on Sunday, FPP posted a video to their Instagram stories showing one of their stalls at an anti-Israel rally. And lo and behold, they are still selling the Bluey shirts.
