The Kiss That Launched a Thousand Lies

Last month, when Israeli hostage Omer Shem Tov was released by Hamas in one of their vile ceremonies, he kissed the heads of a number of terrorists. Israel-haters and Hamas-supporters (usually the same thing) were delighted, hailing this gesture as a “blow to Israeli propaganda.”

One of those to join this chorus of voices was “influencer” Guy Christensen, the guy I have christened (see what I did there?) the Pubic Poodle (PP).

PP symbolizes the sheer ignorance and brainwashing of the Tik Tok generation, and his inability to correctly pronounce the name of the “Knesset”, Israel’s parliament, is just one example of how those getting their talking points from Tik Tok don’t have a clue.

But I am being kind. I am not entirely convinced ignorance is the only explanation. I suspect many like PP are actually funded by some nefarious state actors like Russia, Qatar or Iran.

Which makes this next video of PP’s rather ironic, given his insination Israel invests at least a billion dollars in to “propaganda”:

The only thing this clip destroyed were some brain cells.

Even if Hamas had treated some of the civilian hostages well as PP and others claim, this would hardly make up for the fact they took them as hostages to begin with – in what amounts to a clear war crime. And we know Hamas did a hell of a lot worse than this, murdering and raping so many other civilians on October 7 (something that is beyond doubt given they filmed much of it).

Clearly, PP has not heard of Stockholm Syndrome, which could be one very viable explanation for the kisses. Another is what he and others don’t show you.

You can clearly see the Hamas terrorist with the camera approaches Omer and whispers something into his ear, which we can assume was a command to kiss the heads of the other terrorists. The camera terrorist seems to let his colleages in on the plan, before Omer executes it.

This was confirmed after Omer’s release. As even the anti-Israel Ha’retz reported:

However, the Kan public broadcaster reported on Sunday that Shem Tov himself said when he came back that “the dogs [Hamas] made me do it – I had no choice,” in regard to the kiss.

So, no, Hamas are not benevolent. They treated Omer appallingly.

For nearly 450 days, Omer Shem Tov was held captive in Hamas tunnels, much of it in isolation—including 50 days confined to what his captors called a “dungeon.” His father, Malki Shem Tov, described his son’s ordeal in his first interview since Omer’s release.

Following Regev’s departure, Hamas terrorists transferred Omer to a deeper and longer tunnel, where he was confined to a cramped, underground cell. “It was so small he couldn’t even stand or stretch his arms,” Malki said. “No electricity, complete darkness, except for a small flashlight whose batteries would sometimes die, leaving him in total blackness.”

At first, his captors provided flatbread, but eventually, he received only biscuits. “The water was salty, undrinkable,” Malki recounted. “It was incredibly hard. In his last days there, he struggled both physically and mentally to hold on.”

After 50 days, Hamas moved Omer again—this time to a different tunnel, still alone but in a slightly larger space. The walls were lined with white tiles, creating an illusion of light. “Apparently, even in hell, there are degrees of suffering,” Malki said, his voice tinged with bitter humor.

Omer remained in that tunnel until he was freed as part of the hostage deal. His older sister, Dana, explained that forced labor helped him endure captivity. “They made him cook, clean after them, carry things. That kept him occupied.”

“They had a TV, and he watched Al Jazeera and Al Arabiya,” Malki said. “But those channels only showed the protests at the Prime Minister’s Office, not the ones in Hostage Square, where we were. His captors used that against him, telling him, ‘Look, even your parents aren’t looking for you.’”

Hamas did allow Omer to see social media posts, including an Instagram video of his family celebrating his birthday. He also saw a Ynet interview with his parents from October 2023. “His captors showed him the picture and said, ‘Your parents look old,’” Malki said.

So of course since his release, Omer has thanked the IDF and recently met President Trump and told him “My family and I, myself—we believe you’ve been sent by God to release us.”

Meanwhile, it seems to me that PP has been sent by Hamas, or at least is being financed by them or their state backers. I think his funding sources need to be investigated.
