Children’s Author Brooke Scobie Wants Parents To Teach Their Kids To Hate “Zionists”

Brooke Scobie is a published children’s author and business advisor described as follows on the website for the organization for which she works:

Brooke Scobie (she/they) is a queer First Nations creative business mentor based on Darkinjung land. With over 15 years of experience in community services and five years in the arts, Brooke specialises in empowering creatives and driving innovation that fosters growth and opportunity.

As a freelance author, Brooke has achieved national recognition, including their middle-grade fantasy adventure series published by Penguin Books Australia in August 2024, 2nd place in the 2020 Judith Wright Poetry Prize, and finalist status for the 2023 David Unaipon Award.

Brooke’s professional expertise spans program development, project management, and strategic partnerships across corporate, non-profit, and government sectors. With a strong track record of supporting First Nations artists and marginalised voices, they offer a uniquely holistic approach to mentoring, blending industry insight with creative and community-driven solutions.

Elsewhere, she is also described as auDHD. She certainly ticks a number of DEI boxes, doesn’t she?

Among her dislikes are “Colonialism, bigotry (of all kinds), oval-shaped spoons and coffee.”

I assume by “bigotry” she means all kinds of bigotry except for that against practicing and/or proud Jewish people – which she seems to engage in herself:

I don’t know about you, but I am not entirely comfortable with a children’s author who believes children should be educated to hate us.

Let alone wanting to “decolonize” the very country in which she lives:

What role does Country play in Yarn Quest?

BS: Country is a character of its own. These stories would look, feel and sound so different if they weren’t based on my experiences as an east coast First Nations person. I grew up on Darug land and now I live on Darkinjung land, and Country has inspired me and given me so much power. The Story Realm itself is like a magical uncolonised version of Country here on the East Coast. It’s how I imagine this land would look when we decolonise this place.

What makes this even worse is she essentially has the New South Wales Government’s “kosher seal of approval”, appearing in the business bureau section of their website:

How is this ok?
