Back in 2021, David Miller, a professor at the University of Bristol, was fired for antisemitic comments. Bristol said at the time that although a QC found that the comments Miller was alleged to have made “did not constitute unlawful speech”, a disciplinary hearing concluded that he “did not meet the standards of behaviour we expect from our staff”.
Miller later challenged his dismissal, leading to an employment tribunal. In 2024, the tribunal ruled that he had been unfairly dismissed and discriminated against based on his anti-Zionist beliefs. The judge concluded that Miller’s views on Zionism constituted a philosophical belief protected under the Equality Act 2010. The tribunal emphasized that his statements were lawful, not antisemitic, and did not incite violence or pose a threat to anyone’s safety.
What made this ruling even more preposterous was it was becoming clearer and clearer just how antisemitic Miller truly was. For instance, even the Socialist Worker, who deny the antisemitism of those who want the Jewish state destroyed and had previously defended Miller, admitted some of his tweets went too far and were actual antisemitism.
After the tribunal’s ruling, Miller became a repeated guest on rabid Jew-hater “Stupider” Stew Peters show – as if to frank his antisemitism credentials:
But just don’t take my word for it.
You see, someone else has noticed Miller’s vile antisemitism – none other than Tony Greenstein, himself a “notorious antisemite.”
I discovered this delicious fact when I found this tweet of Miller’s, in which he argues that pointing out there are Jewish “anti-Zionists” is based on the idea of Jewish supremacism:
Notoriously antisemitic Tony would have none of this!
Greenstein’s tweet then links to a blog post he wrote in March of this year, in which he attacks Miller as a liability to their movement, and argues that Miller’s targeting of Jews and Jewish anti-Zionists is antisemitic.
Greenstein is of course correct that Miller is a Jew-hater, but not just because he attacks Jewish “anti-Zionists.” Nevertheless, watching the “notorious antisemite” attack another notorious antisemite for being notoriously antisemitic is a joy to behold.
