When it comes to the anti-Israel and antisemitic acts, protests, and general agitation, Melbourne seems to be the capital, “Gas the Jews” shenanigans in Sydney notwithstanding. Melbourne is head-of-the-snake Nasser Mashni’s hood, after all (notwithstanding his claims “Palestine” is home, and his rants against Australia).
So what happened today in Melbourne is oh-so-delicious.
Picture this: the final of Australia’s premier soccer competition, the A-league, with the two Melbourne teams, City and Victory, battling it out.
The score was 0-0. Cometh the moment, cometh the man – that man being Israeli international Yonatan Cohen.
That’s right. He scored the winning (and only) goal, and later proudly celebrated with the Israeli flag after the game.
I can only imagine the amount of seething going on at Palestine Dipsh*t HQ.
A far cry from last October, when City played a derby match against Victory, and Cohen, in just his second outing for his new club, got booed every time the ball was in his possession, clearly due to the anti-Israel sentiment.
Well done Yonatan! And to the Israel-haters and antisemites, I say this (as they say in Australia): suffer in ya jocks!
