Canadian actress and author Evangeline Lilly, who gained popularity for her leading role as Kate Austen in the ABC drama series Lost, has been proudly promoting her role in a unique Israeli animated film called Legend of Destruction – an interpretation of Talmudic stories of the destruction of Jerusalem and the Second Temple in 70 CE.
Predictably, Evangeline has been receiving some rather nasty comments to these posts – because she lent her voice to an Israeli film, one that shows how Jews were in the land centuries before Islam was even a thing.

As far as I can see, Evangeline has been consistent in staying out of the conflict. In November 2023, she encouraged followers to donate to a charity helping both Israeli and palestinian Arab families in need.
And when commenters have tried to drag her into attacking Israel, she has refused to play along.

These haters don’t merely demand that celebrities condemn Israel. They demand that they boycott Israeli art, Israeli filmmakers and, apparently, even Jewish history.
In a world full of celebrities eager to virtue-signal their way into the good graces of the anti-Israel crowd, Evangeline Lilly’s refusal to play along is a breath of fresh air.
She may have spent six seasons on Lost, but it are these detractors for whom the word seems far more appropriate.
