Last night were the Emmy Awards, and for some celebrities, it was a chance to flaunt their… ignorance and virtue signaling.
More specifically, Javier Bardem, Hannah Einbinder, Meg Stalter, Aimee Lou Wood, Chris Perfetti, Ruth Negga, Natasha Rothwell all either wore a Artists4Ceasefire pin or made statements at the event to signal their moral bankruptcy.
Yeah, me too. Javier Bardem is the only one of those names I even recognize, and even then because he is married to Penélope Cruz.
And boy, what a goose he made of himself. He came dressed up looking like one of his villainous on-screen characters.
Javier Bardem says "I will not work" with any film or TV company "who justifies or supports the genocide" in Gaza: "It's as simple as that. We should not be able to that, in this industry or any industry." #Emmys pic.twitter.com/q1rMBi8H3m

I was almost expecting James Bond to appear and engage in hand-to-hand combat with him.
Was almost expecting James Bond to appear out of nowhere and engage in combat with the "Bond villain" looking and sounding Javier Bardem https://t.co/7VvAV0sqvH pic.twitter.com/7OTwB9R7HW

Javier Bardem has been screaming “genocide” in Gaza since 2014. Since the end of the 2014 war, the Gazan population has increased by approximately 340,000–400,000, representing a ~19-23% increase.
And Bardem applauding Spaniards trying to expel the Israeli cycling team is truly sickening, especially given Spain’s dark history. Heck, Barden played a twisted monk during the Spanish Inquisition in Miloš Forman’s 2006 film Goya’s Ghosts. Or perhaps he wasn’t playing anything.
And here’s the kicker about this Spanish bull fighter sh*tter. When he and Cruz became parents for the first time, their baby son was born in the utmost privacy at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. It is a Jewish-founded hospital, whose mission “is founded in the ethical and cultural precepts of the Judaic tradition.” Not only that, but Cedars-Sinai has medical collaborations with Israeli hospitals and, after Oct. 7, 2023, donated to Israeli medical centers. Perhaps Bardem and Cruz should return their son in protest?
So spare us the sanctimony, Javier. I suspect you won’t be working much in the film business again. But look at the bright side – you can always be a cosplay villain, if not a movie one, by walking around in that keffiyeh.
