Revenge of the “Moderates”

Note: Welcome LGF lizardoids. While you are here, please look around. Whether it be my latest Israeli News Briefs, or Separated at Birth series, there’s something for everyone!

Earlier today, palestinian terrorists pumped 3 bullets into an Israeli man in a drive-by shooting, seriously wounding him and lightly wounding another man. While there was no immediate claim of responsibility, a terrorist group called the Al-Bashaer Army has now taken responsibility, claiming the terrorist attack was a response to Israeli actions against palestinian prisoners.

You know, those prisoners who rioted, lit fires, and attacked the prison guards.

By the way, the Al-Bashaer Army is part of Al-Aqsa Brigades, which is affiliated with Fatah.

Mahmoud Abbas’ Fatah.

In other words, the man proclaimed by the Israeli and US governments as a moderate, leading the PA who will now receive another $410 million, is either a) complicit in terror, like his predecessor Yasser Arafat or b) unable to control members of his own organization. Not that we didn’t already know this.

Either way, he is not someone to make a deal with. After all, we will be giving away our land and security, and receiving nothing in return. Except some photo opportunities. And an inevitable future attempt to completely eradicate us.

To quote Queen, I’m going slightly mad.

Updates (Israel time):

5:00PM: Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert earlier today:

“The Israeli nation’s aspiration for peace won’t be stopped by the bullets of a lowly assassin.”

He was of course referring to the 3 bullets that killed former Prime Minister Yitzchak Rabin, and not the 3 bullets that have endangered the life of an innocent Israeli man. But I think you get the point.

6:00PM: The seriously wounded man is an IDF soldier. Which means he is likely a young man 18-21 years-of-age.

6:10PM: Yep. 20-years-old.

6:25PM: Here’s how the International Middle East Media Center (IMEMC) is reporting the attack.

Israeli media sources reported that three Israeli settlers from the illegal settlement of Ariel, located in the northern part of the West Bank, were lightly injured in a drive-by shooting on Wednesday morning.

One man was seriously injured, and was moved to an Israeli hospital for treatment, the sources said.

Security reports indicate that a car opened fire (thanks to commenter Paco for noticing this – AD) at the settlers near Ariel settlement and fled the scene.

The Israeli army later installed several flying checkpoints near the road to an attempt to stop the attackers.

Here’s the punchline.

IMEMC is a media center developed in collaboration between Palestinian and International journalists to provide independent English language media coverage of Israel-Palestine.

Being a joint Palestinian-International effort, IMEMC combines Palestinian journalists’ deep understanding of the context, history, and the socio-political environment with International journalists’ skills in non-partisan reporting.

IMEMC provides fair and comprehensive coverage of events and developments in Israel-Palestine.

6:52PM: I guess I should be thankful that IMEMC even reported this story. It hasn’t rated even a mention on Al Crapeeza.

7:05PM: We have reduced 2 more terrorists to worm food right after they fired some Qassam rockets into Israel (6 since this afternoon). Yes, folks, the Qassams are still being fired into Israel.
