There are certain things in life that are certain. You know, things like death, taxes…AP photographers showing their bias against Israel.
Case in point: here’s AP photographer Muhammed Muheisen on today’s terror attack.
The body of a Palestinian is seen, following a knife incident in the West Bank settlement of Shilo, near Nablus, Monday, March 31, 2008. In West Bank violence Monday, a Palestinian who tried to stab Israeli hitchhikers near a Jewish settlement was shot and killed by an armed Israeli civilian, Israeli police said. One of the hitchhikers opened fire after the Palestinian pulled a knife, police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said, calling the shooting self-defense. (AP Photo/Muhammed Muheisen)
Leaving aside the fact that he has seen fit to take a picture of the terrorist’s lifeless body, allow me to translate key parts of the caption:
Knife “incident” = terror attack perpetrated with a knife
“West Bank violence” = terror attack perpetrated by a palestinian
“Pulled a knife” = pulled out a knife to kill
And the cherry on top is the last part of the caption when Muheisen mentions the police spokesman “calling the shooting self-defense.” As if it was something else.
Update: Besides being an AP photographer/propagandist, Muheisen also dabbles in blog commenting.
A near fatal terrorist attack was averted today, thanks to the quick thinking of one of the targeted victims…and the bad judgment of the terrorist, who learned the hard way that in a game of Rock Scissors Paper Knife Gun, gun usually wins.
An Israeli hitchhiker shot dead a knife-wielding Palestinian in the West Bank on Monday afternoon after the man tried to stab him and a companion as they waited for a ride near the settlement of Shiloh.
An investigation into the incident ascertained that the two hitchers spotted a man running toward them, carrying a knife with a 20-cm blade. One of the two hitchhikers pulled out his personal weapon and shot the man.
Magen David Adom emergency service personnel pronounced the Palestinian dead at the scene.
While this was clearly not a humorous event, and I am extremely thankful that it was the bad guy who was killed, I couldn’t help but visualize this scene after reading the report of the knife-wielding terrorist taking on the Israeli with a gun.
The Peace Process Game, which in no way should be confused with anything peaceful, is the game that Palestinian Arabs play with gullible Westerners to prove that their intent is something different than ultimately genocidal towards Jews in the Middle East.
One of the earlier incarnations of the game was when Arafat promised that he changed the PLO charter to not advocate the destruction of Israel, something that never occurred (unless anyone can point me to a copy of the revised charter, ten years after it was supposedly changed.) He even faked an entire “vote” in front of President Bill Clinton pretending to nullify parts of the charter. It was a classic move in the Peace Process Game.
More recently, this past September the PA announced that they had “dismantled” the Al Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades in the West Bank. Nothing of the sort ever happened but they got brownie points in the West for this bold, imaginary move.
Dozens of similar examples come to mind - the “clean-up” of Nablus from terror and the “condemnation” of Abbas for the Mercaz HaRav massacre are two more recent ones.
Today, we find out about the latest wrinkle in the game, courtesy of Ha’aretz Hebrew (translated by Daily Alert
Israel recently authorized the deployment of 500 PA police in Nablus. According to a report that reached Defense Minister Barak, these forces are working in coordination with local terrorists.
The terrorists neutralize the bombs they have prepared when the PA police enter the Casbah, and hook them up again when they leave.
Another elaborate charade of the PA, meant to show the West that it is honoring commitments while it shows the terrorists whose side it is really on.
Let’s give them more money for their latest peaceful move in The Game!

Hollywood actor Kevin Spacey, to be precise.
Kevin Spacey accuses BBC of unfair bias in TV shows
Kevin Spacey today accused the BBC of “crossing the line” by unfairly promoting West End musicals at the expense of other theatre productions with its talent show programmes.
Yep. Now they’ve crossed the line.
The Associated Press reports:
Israel pledged to remove some West Bank roadblocks as a start to “concrete steps” in an agreement Sunday with the Palestinians that is aimed at paving the way for a final peace deal this year.
Get it? Roadblocks … concrete …paving. Those Associated Press writers are a laugh-a-minute.
Reading on, you would be forgiven for thinking the entire article is a joke. Or at least hoping it is.
Under the plan that Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice announced, Israel will remove about 50 roadblocks and upgrade checkpoints to speed up the movement of Palestinians through the West Bank.
The Israelis also will give Palestinians more security responsibility in the town of Jenin with an eye toward looking at “other areas in turn.” They also pledged to increase the number of travel and work permits for Palestinians and to support economic projects in Palestinian towns.
In return, the Palestinians promised to improve policing of Jenin “to provide law and order, and work to prevent terror,” according to a State Department statement.
In other words, Israel agrees on a whole range of gestures, including relaxing security measures that have proven to be effective in reducing the number of palestinian terrorist attacks inside Israel, while the PA promises to..try prevent terror. Besides the fact that they supposedly promised to do that at the beginning of Oslo, it is something the success of which can’t really be measured. After all, the palestinians can always claim they have been trying, but haven’t been able to succeed due to any number of factors, all of which are Israel’s fault.
And to think us Jews are supposedly good negotiators.
Update: Someone please tell me this is an April Fools joke, albeit a few days premature.
Ynet has learned that the series of gestures include the establishment of a city or several neighborhoods near the West Bank city of Ramallah, which would be financed by a Jordanian businessman.
The project would be built north of the town of al-Bireh and is aimed to be inhabited by tens of thousands of Palestinians in a bid to ease the housing shortage in the Ramallah area.
The city will be connected by a road in the Birzeit area, approved by the IDF. The plan is currently subject to the approval of the Civil Administration, in coordination with the Palestinians.
A Palestinian girl stands next to her father as he prepares coffee for mourners during the funeral of a member of al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, Rabea Mohsin, in the northern Gaza Strip March 30, 2008. Israeli forces killed two Palestinians who tried to plant a bomb on the Gaza Strip’s northern border fence on Saturday, Palestinian hospital officials and a militant faction said. It is bad enough that the photographs Reuters sees fit to publish after terrorists are killed are those of people mourning the terrorists, including children. It is clearly a device aimed at humanizing the terrorists, and eliciting sympathy for them and the palestinians who support them.
But this is even worse. Here, Reuters has decided to publish a photograph of a mourning palestinian child with an eye patch. While the eye patch is not related to the reported incident nor caused by Israel in any way (had it been, you can bet Reuters would have mentioned this fact), it’s purpose is served: anyone seeing this picture will naturally make the connection and view it as an injury inflicted on the girl by the IDF.
While it is the girl who is (perhaps temporarily) unable to see in one eye, it is Reuters and their ilk who are exhibiting moral blindness.
Just when you thought he’s tried every hairstyle, he comes back and surprises you with a drastic new look.
This time he’s outdone himself, shaving off his mo…

He’s still pissed though. Perhaps he should try a change of color.
I can’t resist this next story.
A New Zealand man who claimed to have been left speaking Australian after being raped by a wombat has been sentenced to 75 hours community service.
Arthur Ross Cradock, a 48-year-old orchard worker, admitted in the Nelson District Court yesterday to the charge of using a phone for a fictitious purpose, after calling police with the message, “I’ve been raped by a wombat”.
Police prosecutor Sergeant Chris Stringer told the court that on the afternoon of February 11 Cradock called the police communications centre, threatening to “smash the filth” if they arrived at his home that night.
When asked if he had an emergency, he replied “yes”, Mr Stringer said.
On a second subsequent call to the communications centre, Cradock told police he was being raped by a wombat at his Motueka address, and sought their immediate help.
He called police again soon after, and gave his full name, saying he wanted to withdraw the complaint.
“I’ll retract the rape complaint from the wombat, because he’s pulled out,” Cradock told the operator at the communications centre, who had no idea what he was talking about, Mr Stringer said.
“Apart from speaking Australian now, I’m pretty all right you know, I didn’t hurt my bum at all,” Cradock then told the operator.
I don’t know what’s more offensive - the claim he was raped by a wombat or that the rape made him Australian.
And in perhaps the biggest understatement of the day..
Mr Stringer said alcohol had played a big part in Cradock’s life.
Update: By the way, Cradock would have been in a more trouble than he thinks had his claims been true.
A complicated dance, a bite on the rump and ferocious backward kicks are all part of the wombat’s lovemaking repertoire, a new study has revealed.
Until recently, there were no recorded observations of mating between wombats.
But the director of Nocturnal Wildlife Research Ltd, biologist Clive Marks, found wombats were more likely than the average Aussie male to emulate moves from the Kama Sutra.
Hezbollah members hold pictures of assassinated Sheik Abbas Musawi, left, Hezbollah leader Sheik Hassan Nasrallah, center, and assassinated top commander Imad Mughniyeh, right, during a funeral of a Hezbollah member in the southern village of Tair Dibba, Lebanon Saturday, March 15, 2008. It’s no secret that both Hezbollah and Israel are preparing for possibly another round of fighting, and recent violence — the assassination of a top Hezbollah commander and the killing of Jewish seminary students — seems to reinforce fears that war may be just around the corner in the Mideast. Interesting how the word “assassination” - meaning premeditated murder - is used in relation to the Hezbollah commander, but when it comes to the premeditated murder of 8 Jewish boys, the less harsh word “killing” suffices.
