Iranians Take Down Twitter

The Iranians have seemingly hacked Twitter.

twitter hacked

Nice of them to leave their email address, though (Viagra spammers takes note).

Of course, it makes sense that they would target Twitter, given it caused them a lot of trouble in the wake of the Iranian election debacle and its aftermath. In fact, Iran was the top Twitter trending topic of 2009.

Update: Someone ran the Arabic through an auto-translation:

Users on the micro-blogging service were presented with a new home page, apparently protesting the United States.
The new home page emerged at 6 a.m. GMT today.

In the poorly translated English, there is an odd reference to an embargo list, and that the hackers were against the Iranian people being stimulated. The hackers gave the address of iranian.cyber.army@gmail.com.

So I repeat my call for Viagra spammers to mail them.

Update: Twitter seems to be back up, but I have lost 3 followers. Damn Iranians!
