Thanks to one of my Facebook friends, Jonathan Sacerdoti, I was asked to appear on the Morning Show of i24 News. My friend is now the UK correspondent and he put my name forward to talk about a variety of subjects including the work on Hamas sourced casualty figures by Dave (and our anonymous reader). I spoke to Yael Wissner-Levy. Here’s the video.
i24 News is a 24 hour news station covering Israel. It’s broadcast across Europe and the US and on the internet in English, French and Arabic. It is a major operation with beautiful studios above the port in Jaffa. They’ve been going about a year now and I’ve got to say I often have it playing in my office. Now, having seen the team behind it, I’m deeply impressed with the whole set up. They seem to be doing proper journalism: that doesn’t mean they’re a propaganda mouth piece I agree with, but they give a fair presentation of Israel.
One point from my video: I really didn’t mean to attack the host with my comment about uncritically reading Hamas casualty figures from her teleprompter. I think she knows that! But it is an important point to make that nobody is making each time they give out the numbers.
I was delighted when I was joined in the green room before the show by Col Richard Kemp. You may remember his from his many statements defending the right of Israel to defend itself and specifically praising the IDF for it’s outstanding, moral conduct.
I was less than impressed with myself when, a few minutes later upon my return from the bathroom I crashed headfirst into a maliciously clean glass partition wall with my forehead. As the bump rose from under my makeup, it was time to enter the studio!
Which allows me to make a subtle point about my injury. This injury was sustained as a direct result of the Hamas war. Without the Hamas war I wouldn’t have been in that dangerous, glass filled environment and would, therefore, not have banged my head on the glass. I therefore would put forward that I am another injury of this unnecessary war and Hamas are completely to blame for my
blood bruise. Please add me to the count of wounded innocent civilians on the Israeli side.
Because you can be sure that the Hamas run Gaza Ministry of Health is adding pretty much everything beyond ingrown toenails onto the injury and casualty list they’re serving up, gift wrapped with a bow, for the international media to regurgitate without critical thought.
