Smoking Rocket II: Now France 24 Confirms Rockets Fired From Civilian Areas

Hot on the heels of NDTV’s report comes this from France 24.

FRANCE 24 has exclusive footage of a Hamas rocket launching pad that appears to prove the militant group has been firing from areas heavily populated with civilians.

Correspondent Gallagher Fenwick says the site, in Gaza City, is some 50 metres from a hotel where the majority of international media is staying, and just 100 metres from a UN building.

“This type of setup is at the heart of the debate,” says Gallagher. “The Israeli army has repeatedly accused the Palestinian militants of shooting from within densely populated civilian areas and that is precisely the type of setup we have here.”

The launching pad is also where the FRANCE 24 team had a close call last week. During a live cross to the Paris studio, a rocket was fired overhead, forcing Gallagher and his crew to take cover.

Besides the proximity to the hotel and UN building, notice the kids mulling around the rocket launcher.

The question now is: with all this clear evidence the IDF was correct in accusing Hamas of using human shields, who is still going to blame Israel – and not Hamas – for the civilian deaths?

Update: UNRWA head Chris Gunness responds.

Not really.

Update: This is the same location as the rocket launch shown on NDTV.

It’s a bad day for Hamas; the IDF also released what it says is a Hamas field manual that describes the benefits of using human shields.

    • dabney

Yeah, but the msm is merely giving these news items a passing mention, instead of making them the big scandalous news of the day.

People will believe what they want to believe. Gunness sheds the crocodile tears of a poverty pimp.

Everybody knows what Hamas is doing. They don’t care. They think Israel should just sit back and let Hamas do whatever they want and not protect themselves. Hamas is destroying the Palestinian people, not Israel.

    • unpluggged

      It’s impossible to destroy a non-existent people.

Would you allow your kids to play outside when there is a war ongoing, or would you put them in a shelter? Then who is to blame that these little bastards turned out dead?

Now Hamas is launching next to the hotels where the reporters stay. I hope they will repay Hamas for endangering their lives by reporting truthfully and exposing all the crimes of Hamas they have been afraid to report till now. To Hamas they are good PR alive or dead.

    • Josiane Gul

You are dreaming? They will never report that unless it happen when they on live feed. Feinwich will never had reported if it had not happen live.

The human shield premise is that only a terrible and inhuman monster would attack if it meant killing children in the process. Right.
