Who Is UK Labour’s Ed Miliband A Friend Of?

Labour friends of Palestine gala dinner dinnerpic

On Wednesday night Ed Miliband, the leader of the UK’s Labour party, is the guest of honour at the “Labour Friends of Palestine & the Middle East”. The second speaker is His Excellency (I’m not kidding, that’s what they call him) Manuel Hassassian, the Palestinian Ambassador to the UK.

LPFME support BDS and boycotts of (only) the Jewish State. Ed Miliband claims that BDS is not legitimate against Israel. Make up your mind Ed.

There is a going to be a demonstration outside the event:

On the 26th November, Labour leader and potential next Prime Minister of the UK, Ed Miliband, will address Labour Friends of Palestine. LFP not only do not distance themselves from a ‘one state solution’ they actually suggest on their website that a one state solution might be an option at some point in the future.

This is simply not acceptable. We need you to show that Israel still has a very strong voice in the UK and that we will not allow Mr Milibands visit to the LFP gala dinner go unnoticed.

BRING YOUR FLAGS AND FEEL FREE TO INVITE YOUR FRIENDS.

Simon Cobbs from the Sussex Friends of Israel has this video about a protest outside the demonstration fully describing the LFPME and he is quite clear: this group has nothing to say about the Middle East. They’re only interested in “Palestine”.

h/t and thanks to all my UK friends who asked me to publicise this.

  1. Miliband although Jewish by birth is one of a long line of British Jews who feel the need to demonize the Jewish State. I would fear a British Jewish Prime Minister.

The main British parties are all starting to feel the heat from the upstart United Kingdom Independence Party (UKIP), winners of recent by-elections, and Miliband may find himself having to serve up something more kosher to the voters.

  3. Aw man. I absolutely want to go. It will cost £50 to get there and back. I don’t have £50 spare, and going would mean dodging an appointment and probably not getting paid, and it would also mean getting home at 3am the following day.

Really sorry chaps. It would be nice if the capital city were about a hundred miles north of its present location.

Any chance I could get some Secret Zionist Conspiracy money to fund the trip?

  4. Dr. Mordechai Kedar wrote the following in the recent days:

“Israel must change the way it views Europe. This continent is gradually turning into an Islamist area, and European politicians are becoming more and more dependent on the Muslim voter. They have to take stands dictated to them by the voters in their electoral district, and these brought their visceral hatred of Jews and Israel with them from their countries of origin. I do not see this pattern changing, so that for Israel, relying on Europe is a waste of effort at best and under normal circumstances, like entering hostile territory.”

I think it’s absolutely right. Europe is slowly becoming a caliphate, with the keen support of the liberal left. They think that their lives going to spare in the bloodshed in return but it won’t. It’s going to hurt, but since it’s unavoidable, Israel should divorce with Europe. Sooner the better.

    1. I can only comment on the UK and not the rest of Europe, in saying that the Muslim vote is insignificant due to poor election turnout in those communities and the mainstream parties turn on the ‘real politik tap’ only occasionally to appease them….

Take milliband for example, he’s on record as saying he’s a Zionist but then on another occasion eats a bacon sandwich in a ridiculous photo op. He’s simply covering all he bases in the run up to the general election, like any other mainstream politician.

      1. Recognising fictious states may be looked as a tiny “gesture” by European countries, but it’s a serious issue for Israel, and it’s definitely against peace. And these “symbolic” steps was in a favour for the muslim votes only.

At the moment, Angela Merkelis the only EU leader, who’s declared that her country won’t recognise palestine.

Not to mention the Sweden, which already have at least two muslim ministers in it’s gummint, one of them was participated in a terrorist act against Israel in 2009.

        1. Of course it’s a serious issue. But it may be part of a long term strategy in implementing the 2 state solution, a solution in which Palestine has to abide certain criteria if they want to hold onto their funding from the US and EU.

In the case of the EU there is a massive debate on foreign aid in a time when some of the Mediterranean nations are on the verge of bankruptcy……by making the Palestinians ‘accountable’ this aid can be switched off….very quickly.

As for Merkel, she feels as though she has to perpetually atone for the sins of her forebears (or at least seen to be) but this may be counterproductive in the attempts to ‘civilise’ Palestine………..so in a nutshell, you fire rockets onto the democratic nation state of Israel or encourage terrorist crimes against her citizens then we will impose economic sanctions…….

  5. I’m tempted to go but I have no way of getting back. I could stay with a friend but since he recently became a supporter of “Left Unity” I’m finding it hard to want anything to do with him.
