Remember the palestinian tweeter farah_gazan,who used to describe herself as the “modern Anne Frank of Gaza-Palestine”?
An hour ago, she tweeted this:
Strawberry from Gazan lands #Gaza pic.twitter.com/rjSqMd5qQc
— Guess What (@Farah_Gazan) December 20, 2014
A reverse image search indicates the photo on the left was first posted on a Russian forum in 2008. The photo on the right is from North Carolina.
Make no mistake about it. This tweeter sought out photos of strawberries and deliberately tried to pass them off as being from Gaza. I am guessing she did it to make Gaza look like a wonderful place, and increase sympathy for her people and antipathy towards Israel.
As it turns out, we once again have an example of an Israel hater being patently dishonest to prove their point.
(hat tip: Judge Dan)
Wait, so you want to portray the Gazans as suffering? Wouldnt it be good that she posted this to show that they arent starving? Not to mention all the times weve mentioned how they export strawberries.
Not a question of the Gazans suffering or not. The unanswerable question is why palestinians and their supporters feel the need to lie to make their points specifically in those instances when they could simply tell the truth? Yes, strawberries are grown in and now exported from Gaza. What is the need for posting pictures of Syrian children killed in the Syrian civil war and passing them off as palestinian children? In both cases, it can’t be/isn’t that no such photos exist. Do Gazan strawberries not look as good as those from elsewhere? Would pictures of palestinian children killed in the last war not tug sufficiently at the heartstrings of the western world?
Mostly call “Anti Antisemitism” but the west, and the world label it as “Anti Zionism”
Fix “Antisemitism”
No I don’t buy that. Anti-semitism undoubtedly underlies the lying. And “Anne Frank” may be under the erroneous impression that only Israel haters will see her post, but how do you explain Rosie O’Donnell? Is it hubris? Is it stupidity? Is it laziness? Is it force of habit? Had O’Donnell actually used a picture of a palestinian child killed, she might have been more successful in her argument that she’s against all wars, even though she chose to focus on only the Gaza war. Then her “art work” would probably still be up on her website. Just doesn’t make sense to me: why lie when you don’t need to? Someone, probably many someones, is going to call you out.
how do you explain……?
liberalism is a mental disease.
why lie? because anti-Semites… sorry, “anti-Zionists” want to believe it. no one listens to reason and facts when it gets in the way. unfortunately this fine human quality is starting to spread here (Israel) as well.
When I think of what those dead Gazan children would probably have grown up to be my heart strings just can’t vibrate regardless of how much you pluck them.
Granted what you are saying, but a lack of sympathy is not the issue I raised.
feel the need to lie
It’s in the koran.
What Phyllis said.
Here’s a rule-of-thumb: if you’re a self-proclaimed anything, you’re probably not at all that thing you proclaim yourself to be.
We live in a post fact world. The more outrageous the lie the less truthful or accurate a statement is, the more it becomes a cause and the more it is celebrated. By next year Hamas will be nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize and it’s toss up whether it wins or not assuming ISIS can’t polish their image a bit.
Is there reason to believe she lives in Gaza at all? Is there any external corroboration of her story, eg a respected journalist who has actually met her and verified that she is Gazan?
Do Gazan schoolchildren even know who Anne Frank is? That would involve some sort of Holocaust education. We know that Hamas are fanatic Holocaust deniers and have demanded the removal of references to the Holocaust in the UNRWA curriculum.
My guess is that she lives somewhere in the Midwestern USA
Okay, Al Jazeera and nbc vouche for her as an authentic Gazan. http://america.aljazeera.com/watch/shows/america-tonight/articles/2014/8/1/gaza-s-sudden-spokesgirlthisismythirdwarandthisistheworstone.html

She is also the daughter of a doctor at Al-Shifa hospital, which served as a command center for Hamas during the last war. So, she’s essentially a young propagandist for Hamas.
Her sister, Rana Baker, is a slightly older propagandist for Hamas, who writes for the Electronic Intifada. Here’s her tweets from this summer, when the three Israeli teenagers were abducted: https://twitter.com/RanaGaza/status/477498490445398016
a young propagandist for Hamas.
Trained from birth.
LOL, I tweeted her to point out her use of fake images and she favorited me. Huh???
must be a reading comprehension fail….all that inbreeding.
Gaza does grow and export strawberries and Israel helps them do it. I’m sure their strawberries look great, too. Farah is either too lazy to take a picture of some or helpless to resist lying.
