Israellycool readers are well aware of the deceptive nature of the BDS (Boycott, Divestment & Sanctions) movement. BDS couches itself in the language of human rights to obfuscate their true goal, the destruction of the state of Israel. But every once in a while the truth slips out, as in this trifecta of a Facebook post.
A graphic posted by an outfit called “US Campaign to End the Israeli Occupation” features a map of not merely the “West Bank” and Gaza, but the entirety of the State of Israel – making it very clear that when BDS speaks of ending the “occupation”, they mean ending Israel. The comments section features a revealing query from David Goodman, a Reconstructionist Rabbinical Student, who asks in effect, whether BDS wants to “transform Israel” or “eliminate” it.
Says the left leaning Goodman:
“My observation is that a majority of BDS backers seek to replace Israel and the Palestinian Authority with a single state. A minority, I believe, favor a 2-state solution. For the former, BDS makes sense: It is a potentially effective tactic to undermine Israel’s existence by painting it as a pariah state akin to the former white-ruled South Africa. For the latter, those who seek to transform but not eliminate Israel, I believe that BDS is ineffective. It strengthens the influence of hawks in Israel while undermining the work of the Israeli peace camp.”
The BDS response to Goodman comes quickly enough via David Obrien, a dedicated public servant and Commissioner on the City Services Commission of Everett, MA. In his reply, Obrien channels the ghost of Helen Thomas, as he shamelessly calls for the ethnic cleansing and destruction of the one Jewish State.
Obrien lets loose with:
“One state….Palestine. The israelis can go back to Minsk, Krakov, Vilnius and Brooklyn and work for a living”.
Sounds much like the fictional O’Brien featured in an episode of Seinfeld.
In case you missed it, Obrien topped off his eloquent BDS inspired call for a Judenrein Palestine with a vile anti-Semitic flourish; parroting the ages old pogrom inspiring canard that rather than working for a living, Jews are parasites, living off the toil of others.
In addition to being the filming location for the remarkably crude 2012 Adam Sandler movie, That’s My Boy; Everett, Massachusetts has a new claim to fame as the hometown of City Commissioner and resident hater, David Obrien.
