Egyptian Lawmaker Attacked With Shoe For Being Nice To Israeli Envoy

Egyptian lawmaker Tawfiq Okasha has been attacked in parliament for the heinous crime of dining with the Israeli ambassador, with one colleague even hurling a shoe at him.

Apparently this is video of Tawfik being attacked with the shoe. Think of the shoe as Waldo in a Where’s Waldo cartoon. I still haven’t found it.

My word of advice for the attacker: hold on to that shoe. You just never know where it may end up.

  1. The shoe thing is considered a huge insult in the Arab world, I remember someone threw a pair of she’s at prez W Bush, it was a huge deal.

  2. Bystanding witness

Well – it seems it MUST go down in the annals of history that he’s been slapped with the shoe for having met the Israeli Ambassador. This is NOT true – it’s a falsification. He’s been slapped in the face with the remark: “this is a message from Nasser” as Okasha had a very nasty and ugly go at the late President Nasser the night before in his utterly inciting TV show where he claims to be the “guest”. That’s the true story. And he would have deserved much more than just a shoe!!
