A Piece Of The Action

Following Aussie Dave’s earlier post, in a stunning move today, the Palestinian Authority rejected the Iranian offer to pay terrorists’ families, saying this would be illegal and unacceptable.

Abbas Large ScreenshotNow now, before everyone gets overly excited and starts blowing the trumpets for Mahmoud “Peacemaker” Abbas… and before all those delirious with illusions of a two state solution whip themselves into a frenzy… and before those who smugly puff up their chests and say, I told you he was a moderate and a partner for peace, we all need to take a step back.

Because the Palestinian Authority didn’t reject financial aid to terrorists at all.  They didn’t reject it on moral grounds.  They didn’t reject it on humanitarian grounds.  They certainly didn’t reject it because it went against peace-making either.

They rejected it and said it was unacceptable, only because… they wanted their piece of the action!  Like the mob in one of those old Chicago gangster movies, nothing gets done without extracting a small percentage and without the express permission of the Man in Charge – in this case, the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.  And he knows a thing or two about it, having reportedly become quite wealthy over the years.  With millions and even billions of dollars pouring into the coffers of the Palestinian cause, it’s quite clear that “occupation” is good for business.

Nabil Abu Rudeina, the Palestinian presidency spokesman, even said that bypassing the authority would constitute “illegal interference in internal Palestinian affairs.”  Funny, isn’t it?  They reject interference by Iran, and yet run to the United Nations every time someone under their authority breaks a nail in another attempt to blame Israel for everything from sand storms to flat tyres.  And I’m pretty sure trying to force a country to give up its territory constitutes “illegal interference” in Israeli affairs.

Nevertheless they recommended that Iran send its money to the Palestinian Authority’s Martyrs and Prisoners Foundation.  In other words, they have a specific foundation set up for those who kill and maim and destroy innocent peoples’ lives.

How proud they must be.

And yet, the Palestinian Authority is considered, along with its leader Mahmoud Abbas, as moderate – but like all the factions of the terrorist entities around Israel, it’s all a matter of degree.  Whether they wear a tie, or a keffiyeh, speak in soft whispered tones, or yell through a loudspeaker, the goals remain the same.

The destruction of Israel.

  1. In other words.. they turned over the same leaf as always.

Another A++ for consistency. That’s pronounced “Ayy fluss fluss” seeing there’s no “P” in Failestinian. Kinda how Peace comes out sounding more like Fleece.
