Ben Gurion Ranked #6 In Travel + Leisure List Of World’s Best International Airports

The list is based on ratings given by Travel + Leisure readers on airport access, check-in/security, restaurants/bars, shopping, and design.

Given Travel + Leisure has approximately 4.8 million readers and is owned by Time Inc., the list actually means something.

I think this is an even bigger deal, especially considering what Ben Gurion airport was like before it was revamped in 2004 – a dinky little international airport where shuttle buses would transport passengers to and from planes. Ah, the memories!

Here is a taste of the airport for those who have not been (those who do not like loud, brash music should keep the volume low).

  1. Nice-looking airport you got there. But could someone find more appropriate music to accompany this video? It was way too over-the-top in the enthusiasm spectrum. It’s an airport not the new thrill ride at Universal Studios theme park.

  2. I remember in the 1970s when it was a tiny terminal that was constantly under construction and taking the buses to and from the airplanes

  3. When I arrived last September 4, 2015 at 4:00 AM I saw luggage strewn all over the place which gave me a bad impression. However departing everything was nice and orderly as well as very clean.
