Who Can Trust The News Anymore?

I have already lost count of the times the mainstream news outlets made a claim, only to be immediately contradicted 10 minutes later.

Today:

Trump denies connection of Western Wall to Israel!

5 minutes later:

Wait, cancel that

Please, mainstream media. And I’m not only picking on Jerusalem Post and Times Of Israel, because those are the ones I bothered to screenshot. I’m asking all of you. Your prioritizing being first, rather than being correct is damaging everything. Historians are going to look back at your articles hundreds of years from now and think you had no idea what you were doing.

We are seeing this almost every single day in the news. And don’t get me started on the whole US Embassy cluster****.

They’re not moving the embassy!

They’re moving the embassy!

They’re not moving the embassy.

They’re moving the embassy!

DO NOT MAKE ANOTHER NEWS ARTICLE ABOUT THE FREAKING US EMBASSY MOVE UNTIL THE BUILDERS START DIGGING.

Thank you,

Concerned citizen.

Why are you blaming the media for this?

Look at the how the Trump Administration explained its dismissal of James Comey: Every two hours they came up with a different excuse that flatly contradicted all of their previous excuses. Furthermore, each of those excuses came from somebody else – so you had multiple people contradicting each other, all claiming to speak on behalf of the administration.

So why should these two situations be any different? The Trump official clearly did say that the Western Wall isn’t ours; do you have any reason to believe the media was lying about it? How do you know Trump *didn’t* cancel, then uncancel, then recancel the embassy move? He’s done that dozens of times on other American policies!

    * He’s going to build the wall and make Mexico pay for it, he’s going to build the wall and make Mexico pay for it after the fact, he’s not going to build the wall at all, he’s going to build the wall but it’s really more of a fence, he’s going to build the wall again and veto the budget if it won’t fund the wall, he’s not going to build the wall at all again, he’s going to build the wall but later.

    * He’s going to do health care on the first day, he’s going to do tax reform first, he’s going to do health care first and then tax reform, forget health care that failed so he’s going to do tax reform first, no never mind it’s health care again.

If the media claims that the locomotive is headed east, the caboose is headed west, the passenger cars are headed north, and the freight cars are headed south, that doesn’t mean the media keeps changing its mind. It means the train went off the rails.

    1. Yeah! Oh, if only that sage of impeccable character, that dear friend of the Jewish people and sterling American patriot Barack Hussein Obama the Lightworker, were still on his rightful throne …

Okay, that’s just an idiotic response. Did I mention anything about Obama or Jews in my comment at all?

Although Obama was consistent — whatever was worst for Israel, you could count on him to do. And Hillary would have done the same, while claiming she was actually helping Israel.

But let’s not kid ourselves that President Trump always approaches things in the most helpful or consistent manner.

Agreed on Obama, but I’m not so sure I agree on Hillary. Hillary would have been more like George H. W. Bush – generally unfavorable to Israel, but her natural hostility towards us tempered by her natural hawkishness and the realities of American politics.

If anything, Trump is more similar to Obama: meddling in things he doesn’t understand under the mistaken impression that he knows better than everybody else, and destroying everything he touches because he’s a complete idiot. Obama managed to set the entire Middle East on fire in his blundering idiocy, and Trump will do the same to the entire world.

Frankly, between the two, I prefer Hillary. We survived George H. W. Bush and we’d survive her. Trump, for all his professions to being our “friend”, doesn’t understand the meaning of the word; just look at how he treats America’s “friends” in Australia, Canada, South Korea, and the UK. Just like Obama.
