Allison Kaplan Sommer is no fan of Shmuley Boteach, and regular readers will know neither am I.
After reading Allison’s post today, I was inspired to pay Shmuley’s website a visit. Here are some of my observations:
Rabbi Shmuley Boteach, named by Talkers Magazine as one of the hundred most important radio hosts in America, is a nationally syndicated talk show host, the international best-selling author of 14 books, and an acclaimed syndicated columnist. A winner of the London Times highly prestigious “Preacher of the Year” award, Rabbi Shmuley has lectured and appeared in print, radio, and TV all over the globe. His radio show, “Passion,” airs daily on the Liberty Broadcasting Network from 2-5pm.—-Rabbi Shmuley’s best-selling books include Kosher Sex, Kosher Adultery, Dating Secrets of the Ten Commandments, and the critically-acclaimed Judaism for Everyone. His book, Why Can’t I Fall in Love was a finalist for the 2002 Books for a Better Life Award and has just published The Private Adam: Becoming a Hero in a Selfish Age which critiques the American celebrity culture.
Shmuley would also be well-advised to update this section.
In 2000-2001 he ran a one-year initiative with the singer Michael Jackson promoting parents spending more time with their children.
But maybe I am splitting hairs hares.
