My friend Ruth Waiman works at Jerusalem’s 5-Star Inbal Hotel, and, as such, gets to meet her fair share of celebrities.
Last week, she met a rare breed: Intelligent and moral Hollywood ones.
Ruth writes:
Last week, New York philanthropist, Irwin Katsof, who recently became the Director of “America’s Voices for Israel”, a sub-division of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations”, whose mission is to strengthen American support for Israel through a variety of initiatives, brought a notable roster of Hollywood actors, actress and public relations executives to the Jewish State.
The group, who stayed at the Inbal Jerusalem Hotel during the first part of their trip, included headline-makers such as Lori Loughlin (“90210”) (and “Full House” – ed.), Joel David Moore (“Avatar”) and Greg Germann, (“Ally McBeal”).
Said Greg Germann (“Ally McBeal”), “The fact that Israel is a country under siege makes me hungry to speak to people with different points-of-view. You would be surprised as to how many people in the Hollywood community want to visit Israel. It’s a gift to have been invited and we are all hungry to learn.”
Some of the key stops on their itinerary included: the Western Wall (Kotel), Sderot and Tel Aviv. The group also met with local politicians and military officials in order to get a fascinating perspective about the various challenges facing Israel.
Time to update my pro-Israel celebrities post.
?Meanwhile, you can see more photos from the trip here.
