After yesterday’s terror attack in Jerusalem, Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu vowed we would respond “vigorously, responsibly and prudently.”
Judging by this morning’s response, I’m guessing what he really means is “predictably, ineffectively, and lamely ”
The Israeli Air Force struck targets in the Gaza Strip in the early hours of Thursday, a day after Palestinian militants fired about a dozen rockets and mortars across the border.
Hamas, which controls the Strip, said the Israeli airstrike targeted smuggling tunnels along the Gaza-Egypt border, as well as one of its training camps in central Gaza.
An Israeli Defense Forces spokesperson confirmed the air strike, saying that it was in response to the rockets fired at southern Israel.
A third strike hit a power transformer, causing blackouts in the area, Gaza witnesses said. Medical workers said no one was injured in the strikes.
Ok, so now there are slightly less smuggling tunnels (and perhaps more happy goats), some terrorists will have to jump through flaming hoops elsewhere, and it will be harder to read for a few hours. Big deal.
Granted, some terrorists are reportedly soiling their pants, but you can expect that from cowards. Besides, it hasn’t stopped the mortar fire into Israel.
I can only hope this morning’s strikes were a mere appetizer, and the main course is to follow.
