Brigadier General Orna Barbivay will be promoted to the rank of Major General and appointed Head of the Personnel Directorate, replacing Major General Avi Zamir, who will end his service in the IDF. She had filled the number two slot in the Directorate until now, as Directorate Chief of Staff.
In 2005 Barbivay made history when she was appointed to head the Adjutant Corps. She was the first woman in the IDF’s history to head a corps other than the Women’s Corps.
