Hey, I’m extremely pro-Israel, and I work in marketing and PR.I think the pro-Israel side is making a huge mistake constantly yelling “BDS fail!” every time there’s good news about Israel. You are only serving to actually promote the power of BDS, as if every single piece of good news about Israel only exists due to BDS “failing.”
If there is some huge BDS campaign about something SPECIFIC, and it fails, then THAT is a BDS fail, but to constantly promote the power of BDS and how scared Israel is of it by screaming “BDS FAIL” every few seconds, is bad and counterproductive.
There is a huge amount of BDS promotion on the front of your page right now. None of that stuff are BDS fails. And as a pro-Israel person, I can’t even refer people to read your site, because the average person out there doesn’t even know what BDS is, other than some fringe thing.
There are certain bloggers who scream “bds fail!” every time a company does business with Israel. It’s the silliest thing ever. BDS is important, but is mainly attacking the grassroots level. Pro-Israel people are giving BDS more
publicity than the actual BDS people could dream of.Your entire front page right now is like a giant advertisment for how big BDS is.
The average person out there who doesn’t focus THAT much on Israel has barely even heard of BDS. Yet if they went to your site, they’d think it was some huge thing they should read about and look into.
I disagree strongly. By posting about BDS fails, I believe we accomplish a number of things, including:
- Informing people as to the true nefarious nature of BDS (Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions)
- Informing people as to more Israeli accomplishments
- Driving some BDSHoles crazy (e.g. Mondoweiss and some other sites have clearly become more unhinged by some of our posts)
- Using humor to accomplish the above things
But that’s my opinion. I am always interested in yours.
