It’s one thing when Al-Jazeera or Al-Manar use biased, altered names and terms when reporting from Israeli media. It’s another thing altogether when a Reuters reporter does it.
“Shouba [actually Shebaa, but since when do reporters care for correct terms] Farms” is the Lebanese term for Har Dov, conquered from Syria in 1967. The Lebanese insistence on the name, lead by Hezballah, is part of their ongoing war with Israel, and a way to claim ownership over Syrian land.
The Lebanon – Syria Border was correct if we were now in 1966, but since there’s that little obscure country called Israel, one would expect that said border would indeed be between Lebanon and Israel.
Galey Zahal is the IDF’s radio station, and as far as I know, wasn’t overtaken by Hezballah’s al-Manar. Any non-Israeli term used is due to inherent anti-Israel bias by the Reuters reporter in Israel.
This is not the first time I caught this petty propagandist changing words to fit his, or his employer’s narrative.
