Update: Old Terrorist, New Terror

Muhamed Ata Mahmoud Muamar, 56 of Hebron, stabbed a border policeman yesterday. That officer was lucky to be injured and not killed.

We remember Muamar as the murderer of Professor Menahem Stern. Stern was the history professor who was walking in the Valley of the Cross, meters below the Israel Museum in Jerusalem, Israel, when attacked and killed.  Muamar was one of 26 Palestinian prisoners released on the 28th December 2013.

All of the released prisoners had perpetrated offenses prior to the Oslo accords and had served sentences of 19-28 years. So much for releasing killers for peace. We only had to wait a couple of years to see  fears were not misplaced.  Muarmar was free and has tried to kill again.

And where is the promised advancement of peace talks? Just talk it seems.

protest sign ministers of Israel releasing prisoners.

Ministers of the government of Israel should be embarrassed, only in Israel do murderers get released. This protest sign from the end of December 2013 was deemed right-wing fanatical (it says “Ministers of the Israeli government, be ashamed. Only in Israel do we release murderers”)

Now what will be done with Muamar and the other released murderers who have indeed tried again to kill? How long will we have to wait for the next attempt at murder?
