Gloria Gaynor “Honored” By Israel’s Ambassador To New York
Last year, singer Gloria Gaynor performed in Israel, even serenading Shimon Peres (twice).
At the time, she told him “I love Israel and I am happy to be here.”
Today, Ido Aharoni, Israel’s Consul General in New York, tweeted a photo of himself with Gloria, taken during that visit, expressing how honored he felt to be giving her the MLK award this weekend – prompting the following.
@IdoAharoni @IsraelinNewYork @Ostrov_A @AviMayer @EladRatson Humbled and honored and so appreciative to receive this award.#gg

Tweeting this – with an #Israel hashtag no less – especially during the insidious Israel Apartheid Week – is no small deal.
