This statement comes just one day after Israel held a remembrance for the Jews who were exterminated by the “Final Solution,” dreamed up by Hitler and orchestrated by the Nazi war machine.
Such statements lack taste, and seek to twist the narrative and blur history, painting Israel as the evil party in the Middle East conflict.
It is the drawing of parallels such as this that have marked the anti-Israel and antisemitic hate speeches of late. The statement above, is particularly insensitive and inflammatory in its intent, disgustingly so, coming at the time that it did.
It is also, in its own bizarre way, paradoxically true. I will go into that issue in a bit.
Firstly, I wish to take umbrage with this suggestion, which the “honorable ambassador” has made with the seeming impunity that people of his ilk tend to do. Such people have a total disregard for the truth, and will bend and shape history and events, as they see fit, in order to promote their own personal agendas.
Any person with a modicum of sensibility can see that the statement of the “honorable ambassador” is blatantly untrue. One just needs to look at the population figures published by UNRWA, an organisation formed in 1950 to take care of some 750 000 Palestinian refugees.
The number of recognized Palestinian “refugees” today, is upwards of 5,000,000, giving the lie to the “honorable ambassador’s” words.
The impunity with which such blatantly untrue, inflammatory, anti-Israel/antisemitic statements are made, must be duly noted. This kind of statement is made about Jews and Israel, and the person uttering them knows full well that the Jewish people and Israel are largely civilized and there will be no real retaliation save for a verbal one.
The shoe however, would most certainly be on the other foot, had he made such a statement about Islam, many proponents of which seem hell bent on forcing their own version of the final solution on any religion, or nation with which they disagree.
Islamists are hell bent on dominating the world. This is no secret, it is a statement that has been made often, by many different Islamists in many different countries. It is just our sad “politically correct” excuse for a modern world order, that refuses to recognize it for what it is and name it as such.
To provoke Islam, is to provoke a nest of vipers, but say what you like about the Jews and Israel, that’s ok !
It should NOT be ok, but it is, because we are not barbarians, and the world knows this to be true. We are content in our knowledge, that we are ok, and as such, it matters little what others say about us.
We are self-confident, and the world is jealous of us. Which is the real reason why they try, on all fronts and at all times, to bring us down to their level.
It is because of this, that the world in its bigoted and racist way, holds the Jews and Israel to a different standard. Instead of trying to raise their own levels, they do their utmost to bring us down to theirs.
The world is using a faulty moral compass. Of course, they know that it is faulty but it is politically expedient to continue to use it. It is the politically correct equivalent of shooting the messenger.
Parts of South America have long been known to be the last refuge of many of Hitler’s cronies. So the statement by the “honorable ambassador” from Venezuela is not in itself surprising – after all, he likely knows someone who played a part in Hitler’s final solution.
As I said, paradoxically, in a bizarre way, his statement is true and there is not a Jew that would deny it in his heart. We do want a final solution for the Palestinians. We do want to live in peace, we do want to co-exist.
We do not want the destruction of any nation, not even the Palestinians. I doubt that there is a Jew alive that would not seize upon a legitimate chance of ending the conflict and living in peace with our Arab neighbors.
This is our idea of a final solution, one that puts war to bed forever, once and for all – finally.
