We’ve known for a long time about European funding of the NGO war on Israel. This morning’s Washington Free Beacon reports that, according to a forthcoming study by NGO Monitor,
U.S. grants have gone to organizations that have called for the international community to divest from Israel, rationalized terrorist attacks against the Jewish state, and compared Israelis to Nazis.
While Democratic candidate for President Hillary Clinton claims she opposes the delegitimization campaign against Israel, the current Democratic administration is funding BDS groups such as Jewish Voice for Peace and American Friends Service Committee, according to the Beacon.
The National Endowment for Democracy, according to its website, “a private, nonprofit foundation dedicated to the growth and strengthening of democratic institutions around the world,” is also named in the report as a group that is “funded largely by Congress and is dependent on continued support from the White House.” This organization, however,
pours taxpayer money into the Human Rights and Democracy Media Center, which accuses Israel of “ethnic cleansing,” “targeting innocent people,” and calls it the “state of terrorism,” and an “enemy” of women, according to the report.
Another group that receives grants from the endowment, the Al-Dameer Association for Human Rights, is cited in the report as referring to terrorists as “martyrs” and refers to the Palestinian “right to resist” through measures of terrorism.
If Clinton really opposes BDS, she should denounce this action of the Obama administration and pledge to put a stop to it.
