Shimon Peres In Critical Condition; Israel Haters React

2526

Unless you have been in a cave, you probably already heard that former Israeli Prime Minister and President Shimon Peres is fighting for his life, after suffering a serious stroke.

shimon-peresThe head of Sheba Medical Center, Prof. Yitzhak Kreiss, said late Tuesday that Peres had suffered “a stroke with significant bleeding [in the brain], he underwent treatment, and is now sedated and intubated in intensive care. We are monitoring him constantly and in the coming hours will have a reassessment of the situation.”

A little after midnight, a second doctor at the hospital, Shlomi Matetzky, who was directly treating Peres in intensive care, said the bleeding in his brain had been stopped, and that he was lightly sedated. He said Peres had regained limited consciousness and was responsive to simple instructions.

Matetsky ruled out any overnight surgery, saying his condition was too critical to be helped by an operation.

Peres’s son said the family was gathering at the hospital. “We are receiving a huge number of messages from Israel and abroad from all our friends who are surrounding us with love and care,” he added.

Indeed, Israelis (and people around the world), who appreciate Shimon Peres and what he has tried to do for the cause of peace (even if not always agreeing with him), are praying Shimon (Hebrew name: Shimon ben Sarah) gets through this.

Yet those consumed with hatred for Israel do not want peace. They want Israel destroyed. So news of Shimon’s condition elicited these types of reactions from them.

And yes, I am aware it is upsetting to read these (trust me, it is upsetting to look and find them). But it is really important in understanding what and who we are up against.
