As I have mentioned in previous posts, the recent women’s boat headed to Gaza, but which was predictably intercepted by Israel, was carrying absolutely no aid whatsoever. On their website, they explain the reason for this as follows:
Will you be bringing aid to Gaza?
The Women’s Boat to Gaza is a solidarity, not an aid mission. Simply put, we want to end the illegal blockade, not make it more “humane.” We also have concerns about Israel using humanitarian aid as an excuse to attack the boats (e.g., it is contraband or weapons).
As such, the boat will only be transporting the women along with the hopes of an ever-growing international community to end the blockade.
In other words, they claim bringing aid would make the blockade somehow “more humane” – an amazing and devastating admission they would rather keep the Gazans suffering as much as possible.
Furthermore, they claim Israel would use any aid on board as an excuse to attack the boat. This is also bogus. Israel has never attacked the boats. The violence that ensued on board the Mavi Mamara was because the IDF commandos who boarded were met by passengers with iron bars and knives, presumably not items of humanitarian aid. (In fact, there was no aid on board at all). Subsequent interceptions of flotilla boats have occurred without violence.
In a further example of the lies and dishonesty of the boat “activists,” one of them – South African Leigh-Ann Naidoo (who incidentally is gay, and thus not exactly flavor of the month in Hamas-controlled Gaza) – did not seem to read the FAQs on the flotilla website. Or perhaps she did, and knew it does not sound good. Watch what she states as the reason for the boat not containing aid.
This is, of course, a blatant lie, reinforced by the fact even the organization that brought her out do not make this claim nor state it as the reason. Israel has not stolen the aid on board any ships, and has even agreed to it being transferred to Gaza. Not that this aid is significant, especially when compared to the materials Israel lets through to Gaza through COGAT.
These people are not interested in the truth, nor even the people of Gaza really. They hate Israel (and/or the Jewish people) with a passion, so will lie and waste time and money in an effort to demonize us.
