As I posted yesterday, the new $7 million Arafat Museum opened in Ramallah yesterday.
Here is the AFP footage from the opening. I was particularly struck by PA President Mahmoud Abbas’ description of Arafat, and the accompanying visual.
Allow me to break it down for you:
Our “peace partner” describing an arch terrorist steeped in violence and blood as one of their greatest. The bar is truly low.
Meanwhile, the Reuters report on the opening has this gem:
Palestinian attacks, including the killing of Israeli athletes at the 1972 Munich Olympics, the hijacking of airplanes throughout the 1970s and deadly suicide bombings during the second intifada (uprising), are covered in a purely factual way.
I am not entirely sure what they mean by “purely factual” – especially given those words and the words “Arafat Museum” do not seem to go hand-in-hand. Perhaps they mean they are covered with no emotion, just facts and figures, like numbers of innocent Israelis butchered. But it does indicate the PA’s pride in showcasing and glorifying terrorism.
And given the PA are bankrupt or close to it, the $7 million funding this glorification of mayhem and murder is coming from foreign donors and taxpayers.
